Welcome to my first blog post!
Here’s an awkward picture of myself to break the ice!

Here’s how Stitch Fix works:
1) Sign up and create your own personal style profile
2) Schedule your first shipment (how exciting!)
3) Receive and try on your clothing in the comfort of your own home, styled with pieces that you already own
4) Check out online, within 3 days. Leave detailed feedback about what you loved and what you didn’t like so much. Every bit of information helps your stylist grow
5) Mail back your returns in the provided pre-paid envelope
6) Show off your new items! 🙂

Well guys, since I’m SO behind the ball on this whole blogging thing I’ve decided to back log my fixes from the past two years. These will just be short impressions of the items that I received with pictures of the style cards included.
There will not always be pictures of myself, because I wasn’t big into reveals that long ago. Feel free to pin away!

Fix #1

What a nice welcome to the world of Stitch Fix! Lauren was very sweet, and I could tell that she did her best to try and find things that were my style based on my style profile alone. This was long before I finally jumped on the bandwagon to make a Pinterest (I was adamantly against it at first, because I thought it was going to be a time suck haha).

Pomelo Priya Arrow Print Knit-Back Tank – $54

I really wanted to love this top. The pattern was totally my style (if you can’t tell from the picture, they are little arrows). However, this was several fixes before I realized that even though I am a true S in department stores, I am an XS in Stitch Fix terms. It was just way too loose on me.
RETURNED.

Market and Spruce Alan Cowl Neck Asymmetrical Cardigan – $58

I loved the color and the asymmetric look of this cardigan. At the time, I didn’t have very many cardigans and was really looking to add to my collection. Unfortunately I never wear this. Maybe I should consider selling it?
KEPT.
EDIT: When putting this cardigan on to take these pictures I realized how much I love it and why I bought it. I really hope I can incorporate it into some outfits this spring so as not to have to sell it in the end!

Bella Boutique Bilson Silve Infinity Necklace – $32

(Picture from Pinterest)

I never wear jewelry. I just don’t. I’m not careful with it, and it always just ends up sitting on top of my dresser for ages before I do anything with it. For some reason I really loved this necklace. It is small and delicate and the infinity symbol was really cute. It’s the staple piece in my collection of three necklaces, haha.
KEPT.

41Hawthorn Beatrice Exposed Zipper Dolman Top – $58

I bought this shirt really wanting to love it, but I never ended up wearing it! I sent it in to ThredUp instead, and probably received 10 cents for it. Ugh..

KEPT.

Kensie Jeans Johnny Regular Length Skinny Jean – $88

When I put these jeans on, I could practically hear the angels singing. I’d never worn anything so soft, that fit my body perfectly. Goodbye $20 off the rack jeans. I never looked back after realizing what was really out there. I still wear these jeans at least once a week to this day.
KEPT.
EDIT: Jeesh.. I’m like an ironing board from behind, huh? I guess even the best jeans in the world won’t give me a butt haha

So, all in all, my first fix was a 4/5. Pretty terrific if you ask me! If I had known I could request to keep a stylist, I might have e-mailed customer service to ask them about keeping Lauren. I feel like our relationship could have really grown and blossomed.

Fix #2

Oh, Ana.. You really tried for me and I can tell. Still no Pinterest, but she did an amazing job anyway. I’m kicking myself as I type this, because looking back at these pieces I know that if I’d gotten them in a fix today I probably would have kept at least 4/5. Oh, sad regretful day!

Pixley Cambridge Metal Belt Cuff Bracelet – $28

(Picture from Pinterest)

I thought this piece was super cute, and unlike anything that I owned (which actually isn’t that surprising, because like I said earlier I don’t really keep a lot of jewelry around). I did keep it, but I don’t think I’ve worn it once in the two years I’ve had it. Ugh.. I couldn’t even tell you where it was in my house right now, otherwise I’d probably sell it 🙁
KEPT.

Just Black Adora Skinny Jean – $88

My very first pair of Just Black jeans. It was love at first site. The actual color is a much darker green than what it looks like in the style card above. I guess I just can’t say no to a good pair of pants!
KEPT.

Renee C Macklin Graphic Geo Print Keyhole Blouse – $58 (?)

The colors on this top were really fun, but I’m just not a huge fan of bold patterns and deep colors (even today).
RETURNED.

Mystree Abigail Colorblock Lace Trim Top – $58

Do you think that if I begged my stylist she’d resend me this top? I don’t even remember receiving it, which is so sad! If I had to guess, I would say I probably sent it back due to sizing issues.
RETURNED (or at least NOT IN MY CLOSET)

Fun2Fun Torrance Lace Detailed Sleeveless Blouse – $38

This blouse I DO remember trying on. I remember pulling it out of the box and holding it up, thinking “COME TO ME BEAUTIFUL!” Unfortunately, because it was a S it was too large for me. I wish I could have written it off as “flowy,” but even that was a stretch.
RETURNED.

A 2/5 and I was content. Would I have requested Ana again? Probably. I wish I’d known that I could have at the time!

Well this has been a fun trip down memory lane! I hope I’ve given my fellow Fixers an insight into what Stitch Fix was sending two years ago, and some inspiration for your Pinterests 🙂 Thanks so much for choosing to read my little blog.

Until next time!
– Tia 🙂
