I Heart Elbow Patches! Stitch Fix Review #17 and #18

Throw back to those college days when everyone had dry erase mini-fridges.

#socool 🙂

Here’s how Stitch Fix works:

1) Sign up and create your own personal style profile
2) Schedule your first shipment (how exciting!)
3) Receive and try on your clothing in the comfort of your own home, styled with pieces that you already own
4) Check out online, within 3 days. Leave detailed feedback about what you loved and what you didn’t like so much. Every bit of information helps your stylist grow
5) Mail back your returns in the provided pre-paid envelope
6) Show off your new items! 🙂

Well guys, since I’m SO behind the ball on this whole blogging thing I’ve decided to back log my fixes from the past two years. These will just be short impressions of the items that I received with pictures of the style cards included. There will not always be pictures of myself, because I wasn’t big into reveals that long ago. Feel free to pin away!

Fix #17

For this fix I requested some great fall pieces to add to my wardrobe. Specifically sweaters, and if they had elbow patches that was a definite bonus. I also asked for something really fun to wear out for my birthday.

Market & Spruce Nina Asymmetrical Sweater Tunic – $68

I wasn’t sure I would like this right from the get go, and I was right. It was just a little too big and frumpy on my small figure and the asymmetrical detail really set off my OCD. Some women can pull it off, but not this gal!
RETURNED.

Just Black Dean Skinny Jean – $78

There was something about the fit of these jeans that was just kind of.. off. They fit great in the waist, but were tight at the ankles. Which was really uncomfortable, because of the zippers. I also didn’t own any ankle pants at this time and there was something weird feeling about having bare ankles, haha.
RETURNED.

Market & Spruce Fierro Elbow Patch Crew Neck Sweater – $58

This wasn’t exactly what I had in mind when I had requested a sweater with elbow patches (not a huge fan of dark colors, especially pinks), but I was so excited that I had received one at all that I couldn’t possibly say no. If this is anyone’s unicorn, it’s up for sale on my Poshmark.
KEPT.

Papermoon Violeta 3/4 Sleeve Blouse – $48

I know everyone is all ga-ga over the sleeveless Papermoon Violeta, but I guess I just don’t get it. I feel like scalloping ages me. It looked a lot like something my grandma would wear, which is saying a lot because Elizabeth referred to it as a sexy piece haha. Maybe I’d have liked it better without the sleeves, but I’m not going to request it that way just to find out.
RETURNED.

Laila Jayde Cindy Slub Knit Raglan Top – $64

You probably can’t really tell from this photo, but this top does actually have elbow patches. Their just the exact same color as the shirt. Again, not exactly what I had in mind, but it was really comfy and unlike anything I already owned so I kept it. It’s now for sale on my Poshmark.

Well, I’d had bigger aspirations for my birthday fix, but as long as I keep at least one item from a Fix I’m generally very happy. So I can’t complain too much about this 2/5.

Fix #18

I asked for some glam in this Fix– sparkles, sequins, glitter, etc. Just something fun to wear to all of the holiday parties I was planning on attending. I really love that no matter what I request Elizabeth always keeps my edgy side in mind.

Daniel Rainn Caddo Lace Blouse – $74

I really love my Daniel Rainn tops, and I REALLY wanted to love this one. On paper it looked super cute, but for some reason the sleeveless/collar combo just didn’t translate as nicely when I put it on.
RETURNED.

Pixley Mim Embellished Neckline Blouse – $58

The embellishment on this neckline is to die for! I didn’t own any olive colored tops, so I was eager to add more variety to my wardrobe.
KEPT.

Pixley Fiona Faux Leather Skirt – $74

I hate skirts. It’s just personal preference. Give me a dress any day, but I can’t do skirts. I appreciated the faux leather details though! Matt thought it was super cute on, but I just knew I was never going to end up wearing it.
RETURNED.

Skies are Blue Miayan Dress – $78

Dresses of this style never look good on my body type. The bottom is fitted and perfect, but the top always hangs off of me and looks baggy. I really wanted to love it though.
RETURNED.

RD Style Rhonda Faux Leather Jacket – $78

Oh em gee, addicted much? I love this jacket. It’s a staple in my wardrobe and I wear it ALL the time! It goes with anything and everything and it has plenty of stretch and softness to it.
KEPT.

Another 2/5, but that’s okay, because I received some amazing pieces!

Well this has been a fun trip down memory lane! I hope I’ve given my fellow Fixers an insight into what Stitch Fix was sending last year, and some inspiration for your Pinterests 🙂 Thanks so much for choosing to read my little blog.

Until next time!
– Tia 🙂
