Oops I Did It Again! Trunk Club Review #3

When you have a two hour commute to see your significant other.
Big yawns.

Here’s how Trunk Club works:
1) Sign up and create your own style profile -> Trunk Club. Leave your contact information and your assigned stylist will contact you to talk about your style, sizing, and spending preferences (be very honest with them!)
2) Your stylist will put together a preview for you that you can look through and reject items from. Make sure you explain to your stylist why you may have removed any items so they are able to replace them with something that you may like better
3) Try everything on in the comfort of your own home. Try styling the items using the outfit suggestions that your stylist includes in a follow up e-mail
4) Keep what you love and return everything else within a 5 day period. Don’t forget to give your stylist feedback on everything!

Trunk #3

Okay, I’ll admit, I thought I was pretty much done with Trunk Club. I ended up with a few referral credits and with many wedding events around the corner I figured I had nothing to lose by ordering another trunk! I spoke to customer service and requested a stylist change. Darby was very nice, and from our conversations I felt like she got me, but it just wasn’t translating to the trunks that she sent. My new stylist’s name was Tara Regan and she was very excited to get to work on a bridal trunk for me!

Surplice Short Sleeve Bodysuit – $28
‘Skyline’ Ankle Peg Skinny Jeans Optic White – $189

I think bodysuits are on the rise as a trend. I’ve noticed Kim Kardashian is wearing them a lot recently. I’m not so sure it’s for me. I like the fitted feel, but not the “tucked in” appearance. It was also pretty see through which made me a little uncomfortable. I liked the jeans, and truth be told I had been previously looking for a white pair, but right now I just can’t afford to drop money on jeans. I’m really trying to stay focused on my bridal shower/rehearsal dinner outfits.
RETURNED x2.

Stand Collar Jacket – $129

Tara must have REALLY thought I would like this jacket, because she recommended pairing it in all of her outfit suggestions. I’m not so keen on the idea of white outerwear. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. It’s also a little bit dressier than I probably require.

Not to mention, the sleeves were too short. I hate that!
RETURNED.

‘Nerissa’ Drop Waist Lace Dress – $288

Oof.. I just really disliked this dress. First, it was too big, but I have that problem with a lot of dresses. I didn’t like the drop waist, and I really didn’t like all of the lace details (and I am a lace person). There was just too much going on!
RETURNED.

There’s the jacket again.

Sequin Mesh Blouson Dress – $198

I wanted to like this dress a lot. The color, the sparkle.. But I hate spaghetti straps with a passion. The top was also very slouchy and did nothing for my bust. I think I’d have preferred it if it was much more formfitting.
RETURNED.

But WAIT, there’s more (jacket)!

‘Julie’ Long Sleeve Combo Lace Sheath Dress – $295

Okay. Let’s just pretend that this dress isn’t almost $300. I still don’t like it. It doesn’t really have anything to do with my bridal requests. Am I supposed to wear a black dress to my shower..? Yikes. I also wasn’t a fan of the long sleeves. My events take place in May – July. The weather would be unbearable. And then there’s the lace details again. Whoa. Not for me.
RETURNED.

Butterfly Sleeve Stretch Silk Crepe Minidress – $350

I believe I can flyyyyy… Just kidding. But seriously, $350!? What about this dress is worth that much? I’ve never even HEARD of the brand Milly. It’s paper thin and feels like it was made from a single cut of material. Why is the back lower than the front? There are so many questions! The only thing I know without a doubt is that I do not want this dress in my closet.
RETURNED.

Open Back Twist Jersey Tank – $140

Hello there belly! I love the back detail, but wish this shirt was longer. Also, what is this weird breast pocket on the front? Am I supposed to put something in this or it’s just for decoration..? Why..?
PS – these tan lines are permanent. I got a really bad sunburn a year ago and they haven’t gone away yet. Probably gonna die. Just saying.
RETURNED.

‘Nora’ Half d’Orsay Pump – $119.95

Toe cleavage. Ew. I was pretty biased before I even put these on, because I hate pointed heels.
RETURNED.

Cold Shoulder Tee – $32

Last but not least.. The only winner from this trunk. I am so into the cold shoulder trend. I can’t even explain it. This shirt was lightweight and fun. A little bit see through, but a cami could easily be worn underneath without taking away from the shoulders. I love it!
KEPT.

I ended up keeping 1 item out of 10. Somehow it ended up being the second cheapest item in the trunk. For some reason the more expensive an item is, the less I like it (I guess that’s a good thing when I think about it). This just means that I still have credit left over and will have to order another trunk soon! 😉

Thanks for taking the time to check out my little blog. Until next time!
