I’m pretty good with emotional presents.
Here’s how fabfitfun works:
fabfitfun is a seasonal subscription box that offers over $200 worth of full sized items in the categories of wellness, beauty, fashion, and fitness for only $49.99/box.
Visit their site and sign up -> fabfitfun (this is my referral link). You can choose either a seasonal or annual membership. Either way you will receive your boxes at the same four times a year (March, June, September, and December).
You have two choices when subscribing, seasonal or annual. Perks of being an annual subscriber include being the first to be able to purchase add-ons for your box as well as being offered additional customization and choices (such as colors or phrases on items). Annual members also have the perk of earlier shipping times.
To be clear, EVERYONE eventually gets access to the add-ons. And EVERYONE gets to customize some of their seasonal boxes. Annual members just have early access and more options. Just so you know what you’re paying for 🙂
Winter 2017 Box
Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of women, taking more lives than all forms of cancer combined? This season fabfitfun teamed up with the American Heart Association. They even included an emotional testament from Amber Waller in their newspaper (a 36 year old soccer player who didn’t experience symptoms prior to her cardiac arrest). This organization is near and dear to my heart, because they allowed me to specifically donate a care package to moms of babies born with cardiac conditions.
Add ons
Sit back and buckle in folks. This is going to be a long one! I went WAY overboard with the add ons this time around.
Smile Sciences Mint Flavored Teeth Whitening Kit – retails for $299 (but there are literally coupons all over the internet so please don’t pay full price for it!)
I’m always looking for ways to whiten my teeth, and having really sensitive teeth has made this a difficult journey. This kit promises results up to ten shades whiter, and that it won’t cause any sensitivity. I looked up a lot of reviews before adding this item to my cart and they ranged from “I saw no difference” to “I swear my allegiance to this company for the rest of my life.” In the end, I took the gamble. Look forward to a blog post in the near future about my impressions!
Crown Brush 24 Piece Brush Set and Gunmetal Case – retails for $60
I was super excited for this add on, because I own A LOT of brushes, but they’re all individual brushes that I’ve received from subscription services or as presents. It was nice to finally have a complete set with one of every brush I’d ever need. I felt confident buying this set, because Crown Brush is a pretty popular and well known brand. I like the case that they arrived in, and I think that the brushes are all of decent quality. It’s probably not a set that a professional makeup artist would use (I’ve lost a few brush hairs here and there after vigorous blending), but for a novice like me it definitely serves the purpose.
Crown Brush 35 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Metal – retails for $24
Crown Brush 35 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Back to Basics – retails for $24
While we’re on the Crown Brush train.. I just HAD to get these two palettes. So many shadows at such a great add on price! I did some research, and the majority of reviews that I read were positive which was all I needed to see to pull the trigger. I’ve only tried a few of these shadows out, and overall I’m not disappointed. They aren’t all that pigmented, but they do build and I found that the shimmers really popped if I used a wet brush. They blended easily and they were long lasting. There’s a really good blend of mattes and shimmers here, the looks that you could make are endless. Price-wise, unless you’re REALLY in love with the look of these palettes there are probably others that are a little bit better in quality in the same price range that you could grab, but I do not think that these are bad shadows.
Battington Monroe Lashes – retails for $28
I love lashes sooooo much! These lashes are multi-use and super durable. They have a thick band, and the actual lashes are very soft. They’re 100% silk and they make me feel high end when I’m wearing them. The Monroe lashes have moderate length and dramatic volume, but still with that “natural” look. They’re just gorgeous! I’ve already got a cart full of other Battington lashes!
(Worn in the pictures above with the Crown Brush eyeshadow)
A. Marie Jewelry Twiggy Choker – retails for $100
I’ve been really trying to grow my jewelry collection, but I’m super picky.. so when I saw this choker in the add ons and fell in love with it I knew I needed it in my life. The fringe is what drew me too it. I feel like it instantly classes up any ensemble.
Spongelle Boxed Duo in Bourbon Vanilla – retails for $28
Spongelle Boxed Flower in Fresia Pear – retails for $16
I won’t go into too much detail here. I mean, we all know how much I love Spongelle products and these did not fail to impress. Both smell amazing, and the Vanilla Bourbon is seriously THICK. The longevity of these items still amazes me. I think the Fresia Pear is my favorite scent to date.
Sonage Glow To Go – retails for $30
I’m always into trying new skincare items, especially if they’re discounted, because I think we all know how insane the price of some of these items can run at times. These exfoliating pads are supposed to renew skin for a “burst of radiance.” There’s a brief tingling after using, but otherwise I didn’t experience any dryness or discomfort. After at least two weeks of consistent use I’ve definitely started to notice a change in my skin. I feel like my skin is smoother and a lot less red. Fair warning, I did experience a purge in my skin after using this the first few times resulting in a lot of acne which was incredibly annoying.
Cute Balms Macaroon Duo Lip Balm – retails for $8 ($4 a piece)
These lip balms are SO CUTE! Admittedly, I’ve been a little peeved ever since ipsy sent them out and I didn’t receive one.. (Lots of people complained about getting it, but no one would trade me theirs! Huff..) But anyway! All of that is remedied, because I got this awesome little set from FFF. I love these. They offer all of the same effects as you would expect from a lip balm, but I mean come on! They look like little macaroons! Yes, please!
FoxyBae Rose Gold Tres Sleek Flat Iron – retails for $179
Let’s break this down: FoxyBae – most adorable brand name ever. Rose gold titanium – the best gold ever to exist. Flat iron – duh! I’ve been using the same flat iron from over eight years now. I don’t know what the life expectancy of a flat iron is supposed to be, but I’m assuming not over eight years. Anyway, I love this flat iron. Not only is it gorgeous, but it heated up in no time flat and honestly cut down my straightening experience in half. I really like that it has a swivel chord, so I can set it anywhere, and it also has an auto shut off feature which is a lifesaver if you’re someone like me who can never remember if they unplugged their iron that morning.
Candywirez Handsfree Car Phone Mount – retails for $10 (ranges)
Look how cute this is. And once again, rose gold! Score! This is one of those little doodads that I’ve honestly been meaning to pick up for a long time now and just haven’t gotten around to doing. I use my phone for GPS and there is no where to set it in my car when I’m driving, so I usually have to keep it in my hand which is super dangerous (do not do that!). This product makes my life infinitely easier, and safer. It’s also nice for when I want to use my phone to play music.
Over EZ Hangover Pill Duo – retails for $10 (approximately)
Admittedly, I only bought these because I just had to know if they actually worked. I enjoy a casual drink every now and then, but I don’t really get drunk ever. Mostly because ever since I turned 25 I am effectively useless for at least two days after drinking. You’re supposed to take the supplement with your first drink, or while drinking, and they work by producing enzymes that protect your liver from the toxins that are created when you drink alcohol (this is the easiest way to explain it without making this review forever long). One important thing to know is that all of the ingredients are all natural. So how did it work for me? I woke up the next morning feeling very tired, but without a headache. My stomach felt a little weird and I didn’t want to eat anything for a while, but I would definitely use these cute little morning savers again.
Metal Tunes Bluetooth Desk Speaker – retails for $50
I bought this because I’ve been meaning to pick up a bluetooth speaker (deja vu?) and this one had good reviews and looked really cool. It’s easy enough to operate, but my one complaint is that it just doesn’t get loud enough. It’s nice to use for a party, but I was really hoping that I could use it for when I was in the shower. Unfortunately, I can’t hear my music at all above the shower even on the highest volume setting which is a bummer.
Organic Doctor Virgin Olive Oil Day Cream – retails for $24
FFF sent me this product as one of a few free gift options they were giving out this season. Obviously since it’s skincare related I was ecstatic. I really like this cream. It’s very thin so it’s very convenient to wear makeup over. Even though it’s made from olive oil it’s not at all oily. It’s very long lasting and makes my skin feel soft and smooth without that sticky feeling. This is kind of a big deal, because I’m super picky about what moisturizers I use.

BB Dakota Poncho in Charcoal – retails for $70

I got to choose what color I wanted my poncho to be and I chose charcoal, because for some reason I just gravitate towards grays these days. They just seem so much easier to wear and they go so much better with most outfits, in my opinion. It is reversible and can supposedly be worn dressed up or down. Unfortunately it’s a touch oversized, which is just another way of saying that this tiny girl gets eaten by another clothing article that probably looks great on most other people. They suggested pairing it with a belt for a better defined silhouette, but I don’t own any belts! 🙁 It’s a shame, because it is really light weight and comfortable! I would invest in a belt, but if I’m being honest.. I’m probably never going to wear this. It’s a little too “boho” for this edgy, feminine chick.
AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream – retails for $33
I’m not huge on hand creams, despite being a nurse, so I don’t have too much to say for this review. I suppose as far as creams go it’s pretty good. I polled a few of my coworkers to see what they thought, and their reviews were all positive. It has a light perfumey scent and makes my hands feel soft. Can’t argue with those results! Apparently your hands are the first part of your body to show signs of aging. Who knew?
DOUCCE Freematic Eyeshadow Pro Palette in Smokey – retails for $70

I had a love affair with this palette. It came in two options, nude and smokey. I figured, I get enough neutral shades from ipsy so I might as well go big. I wasn’t terribly excited, because I don’t use eyeshadow enough to have yet another palette that I will probably never use before it expires laying around. This palette came with eight shadow pans, both matte and shimmer, as well as a highlighter. The mattes were very pigmented and blended easily. The shimmer.. to be completely honest, sucked. They took several applications to build up pigment and the fallout was super annoying. On the bright side they were both fairly long lasting. The highlighter was very subtle and there was an immense amount of kickback in the pan with only a few swipes of my brush. Are these the worst shadows I’ve ever worked with, no. Far from it. But I definitely don’t recommend paying the $70 price tag.
Homemade by Ayesha Curry Ceramic Mug – retails for $16
How adorable is this mug? It came in three colors, with three different sayings, and we weren’t able to choose. I received the pink mug with the saying “love you a latte,” which I think is totally adorable. These mugs are big and roomy, which is perfect if you’re looking to cut down on the number of cups you have every morning 😉 They were designed by Ayesha Curry, who is featured on the front page this season.
I love the smell of coffee in the morning.
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment – retails for $75
I’m not entirely sure why, but I was a little shocked when I saw that this product was green! Kate Somerville skin care has a HUGE cult following, and admittedly I’ve always wanted to try her products, but they’re so expensive! (I mean, they’re the most expensive item in this box!) So I’m incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to try this product before I pay full price. It’s made with papaya, pineapple, and pumpkin enzymes (which of these is green!?), but has a slight smell of cinnamon. It works to chemically exfoliate using lactic acid, and to physically exfoliate using silica. There’s also aloe vera and honey included, for soothing purposes, which is good because the tingle is very real when you first start using this product. In my experience, I like it! I think that I’ve actually seen a real difference in my skin (I better at this price!). Less break outs, smoother, and healthier.
Pointe Studio Aloe Infused Cozy Socks – retails for $19
These socks came in three different colors: red, black, and blue. I’d have honestly preferred ANY color except red, but that’s okay. Since I’ll only be wearing these in the comfort of my own home (and likely with sweats and a tee) it really doesn’t matter what color they are. What matters is how they make my feet feel, which is amazing. These socks are infused with aloe, which has anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties to sooth your feet. Not to mention, they’re super fuzzy and comfy. They even come with washing instructions to make sure that they last as long as possible.
Sorry I can’t spare you from the dog hair covered carpet.
8 Other Reasons Nine Lives Choker in Rose Gold Color – retails for $58
Chokers seem to be in right now, because I got one in a previous box as well and I don’t think I’ve seen anyone wear a choker in a long time. Except maybe Shae (who has an amazing YouTube makeup channel and you should check her out: ThatGirlShaeXo), but she looks good in anything. That aside, I really like this necklace. We were given the choice between silver and rose gold, and I mean.. obvi, I chose rose gold. I love that this choker has a four inch extender so that it can be worn with a simple white tee or something more.. plunging.
Choice Products
Grace and Stella Anti-Wrinkle Energizing Eye Masks – retails for $16
For my beauty choice product it was all about masks. I chose between a hair mask and these eye masks. I’m not usually a fan of either, but I am especially hesitant to choose hair products. Not to mention, these eye masks claimed that they would rid me of my dark circles, under eye bags, and (best of all) make it look like I’d gotten a full eight hours of sleep. So, yeah, I needed to try out these supposed miracle workers. I can pretty much tell you right now that I’m recommending these to every night nurse that I know.
Am I wearing these right? I don’t even know!
But who cares! THEY WORK!
This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray – retails for $29

For my wellness choice item I chose between a fitness ball and this pillow spray… I mean, no contest. This spray consists of the scents lavender, chamomile, and vetiver which are all proven to reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality. If there are two words I’d use to describe myself as a person they would be anxious and sleep deprived. It can be a little overpowering. One spray goes a long way. My husband actually hates it, I’m pretty sure, so I mostly use it on mornings when I get out of work. I was cautious in the beginning, but now I’m a believer. I feel great when I wake up after a good day’s sleep using this spray.
The total value of this box is $386. Holy wow! This is my favorite box that I have received so far. The value is absolutely amazing. There are so many products in this box that I absolutely love: the pillow spray, the eye masks, the choker, the mug, the socks.. the exfoliant! Not to even mention the ADD ONS! In just add ons I purchased a retail value of approximately $890 at DEEPLY discounted prices! fabfitfun is such a fun experience and I can’t wait until the Spring box arrives!
Thanks for taking the time to read my little blog! 🙂
