fabfitfun Style Box #1

I can’t believe my sister is going to be married for three years this summer!
Man, how time flies!

Did you guys know that fabfitfun does a style box? It blew my mind when I found out! In March I received an email from the fabfitfun style team offering me the chance to try their style box. They claim that it’s an “exclusive” offer, but I kind of have the feeling that anyone could enroll if they wanted to. So here’s how it works:

1) Click the link in the email and fill out your personal style profile (it’s very similar to Stitch Fix). If you’re “chosen for the program” a $20 styling fee will be charged to your card. This money will be applied to any items that you end up purchasing
2) You’ll receive five items in the mail to try on in the comfort of your own home (it took approximately 10 days for me to receive my box)
3) Keep what you like, and return what you don’t. They provide you with a pre-paid return envelope. You have three days to decide
4) You’ll receive an email with your checkout link. Submit your purchase, and drop your returns off at FedEx. If you keep all of the items you’ll receive 25% off of your entire purchase!

It’s that easy!

Style Box #1

My box came with quite a few pieces of paperwork including instructions on the style box process, a sheet with pictures of the items and their prices, some fashion forward advice, and a note from my stylist (Kendra). I like that her note offered some different ways to style the pieces that she sent, and it’s always nice to be able to understand what the stylist was thinking when she chose them.

I also received a black, spandex cami as a gift. You can never have too many camis!

Long Sleeve Mini Dress – $44

I like my silhouette in this dress, and the low back! Every girl needs a LBD, right? It’s form fitting and super soft. It makes me feel feminine and sexy, without being too far out of my comfort zone.
KEPT.

Distressed Denim Jacket – $79

This jacket seems a little bulky, and was extremely difficult to unbutton and impossible to re-button after. I like the distressed detailing, but I already have a jean jacket that I definitely don’t get enough wear out of (are the tags still on..?).
RETURNED.

Shya Mid Rise Super Skinny – $98

Gosh, I don’t think I’ve worn jeans this skinny since I graduated high school (circa 2009!). I like the way they look, but boy are they tight! I paired them with the cami that they gifted me, and it looks great, but I’m really more of a regular skinny or straight leg jean kind of girl. I feel like I would probably be very uncomfortable having to wear these for a long period of time.
RETURNED.

Contrast Front Overlay Top – $39

Super lightweight, the material is very thin. It’s definitely different from anything else I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, the arms are a touch too short and I’m not a huge fan of where it hits me on my hips. I think that it could stand to be a touch longer and then maybe it wouldn’t look so awkward.
RETURNED.

Lace Up Back Knit Sweater – $54

This sweater is the definition of oversized! I like the color and it’s really comfy, but I’m not sure about the back detail.. It doesn’t look how the manufacturer probably intended.
RETURNED.
Verdict:
While I only kept 1/5 of the items, I had a lot of fun trying out this box. I found that the prices and quality of the items where very comparable to Stitch Fix. The subscription doesn’t automatically renew, but they did ask me when I’d like to receive my next box and I answered in a month. I can’t wait to see what comes!

Thanks for taking the time to read my little blog! 🙂
