Product size: deluxe sample
Amount of products received: 5, always

Upon joining you’ll complete a beauty profile that helps them to curate your box to you. Each month you have the option of receiving five surprise items, choosing one of your items, or buying a set of items that are pre-determined by Birchbox. If you’re anything like me, you love to be surprised, but you still want a little bit of control. I choose one item as long as I like one of them.
If you fall in love with any of your sample items you can find the full size in the Birchbox shop for purchase.

Box #3
Each box comes with a cute little insert that lists all of the products, their full size prices, and a short description of them.
COOLA Dawn Patrol Classic Primer SPF 30 – full size $42
This product is a 2-in-1 that doubles as a primer and a sunscreen. It’s velvety texture is reminiscent of the Smashbox brand primer, but just slightly more expensive (I think by about $6). I love the feeling of applying this primer before makeup application. It dries down fast and feels light as air, making it the perfect base for my makeup. Not only that, but it smells great too. The SPF is an added bonus for someone as pale as myself who is often getting sunburnt!
Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream SPF 20 – full size $54
All this SPF got me feeling like spring will eventually come to upstate NY! Goodbye 40 degree weather! I’m ready to soak up some rays! We have another multi-tasking product here. This day cream doubles as your moisturizer and your sunscreen. It’s a thicker cream (think sunscreen consistency), but not at all oily. This cream hydrates and minimizes fine lines, and it’s rich in antioxidants.
Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner – full size $22
I’ve really liked the brand Eyeko ever since I tried their Lash Alert! Mascara, so I was really excited to receive this product. I’m a huge fan of pen-style liquid liners. They’re so much easier for me to control when I want to make lines of varying thicknesses. The best part about this liner is that it’s a true, dark black and it stays that way even after hours of wear.
I chose this mascara as my item in this month’s box. The reason I chose this mascara is because it’s a new release and because people have very charged feelings about it. They either love it, or hate it. Time to find out which side I fall in. This formula is water resistant and smudge proof, but be warned: it goes on wet and takes a moment to dry so don’t blink or you’ll leave a black ring around your eye (sexy). After it dries it feels extremely lightweight, and really delivers on the lengthening and lifting that it promises. After two coats I noticed a definite increase in volume. I’m also pretty happy with this mascara’s unique wand. No clumps, and the smaller end is great for reaching those tiny corner lashes.
On one eye for comparison.
On both eyes.
Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection and Heat Protectant Crème – full size $24
I won’t spend too much time praising this product, because I’ve received it in other subs before, but just know that it’s amazing. This heat protectant cream smells absolutely amazing. Not only that, but it makes my hair feel super soft. A little bit goes a long way, and for someone who doesn’t usually put product in her hair I can’t even tell that it’s there when everything is done. It’s also hydrating, which is a plus for those with chemically treated hair.
The verdict:
This box was a lot of fun to dig into and really got me into the spring spirit. The Eyeko, COOLA, and Benefit Cosmetics have been worked into my daily routine because I like them that much! The Briogeo is amazing, as I’ve previously stated, and I’m always happy to receive new skincare products to try (especially when the full size is as expensive as the Clarins!).
Thanks for taking the time to read my little blog! 🙂
