This month’s theme is “Heat Wave”! Perfect for August. All of this month’s items are detailed on the card provided in your box. I’m not entirely sure how these specific items meet the theme this month yet, but hopefully it will come to me as I try them out.
Jean Pierre Eau De Rose Sheet Mask – retail $12/4 count
I’m not a huge fan of sheet masks, or any masks in general. I know, weird. So I’m not going to bother opening this item, because I know that there are many other people out there who would appreciate it much more than I. These masks are infused with rose water, which means that they probably smell divine, and are formulated to relax your skin resulting in a brighter more rejuvenated complexion.
This lipstick is a great color for fall. It’s a brown nude with a subtle hint of red in it. It applies smoothly, with almost a creamy texture, and takes a bit to dry. After it dried I found it to be long lasting and incredibly light weight. It’s almost like I wasn’t wearing anything, except that it was very pigmented. I didn’t expect to like this lipstick, but I love it!
Double Dare Skincare OMG! Blackhead Pulling Gel – retail $15
This gel works to pull away blackheads, exfoliate skin, and dissolve dead skin cells. I don’t have a problem with black heads (just every other kind of acne.. ugh..), but this gel also tightens pores and smooths skin so there is still something that I can use it for. It’s super quick and easy to use. Just gently massage onto your damp nose for 2 to 3 minutes and then wash off. It smells heavily of strawberry and the exfoliant is made of strawberry seeds.
Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Wild About You – retail $10.50
My nails suck, but I’m trying really hard to get back into nail care and polish items. This nail polish certainly is wild. It’s not exactly the first color that I imagined using when I decided to start painting my nails again, but here we are. It’s described as a bright red, but there’s definitely some neon pink going on in there as well. It only took two coats to get this color and it dried pretty quickly. It chipped after the first day, but that was without a top coat. Ella + Mila products are vegan, cruelty free, and made in the USA.
RickyCare Non-Crease Clips – retail $8
These clips are so cute! They’re little golden leaves, both of which I love! These are the perfect accessory to keep my hair from creasing when I’m doing my skincare routine or putting makeup on and trying to keep my bangs out of my face.
The only item from my Ricky’s box this month that I won’t use is the sheet mask, but I can easily gift that to one of my mask loving friends, so I’m counting this box as a win! I really like the lipstick and the clips, but I’m looking forward to wearing the nail polish more in the summertime and seeing how the gel effects my nose over time.
