How does the Allure Beauty Box work?
Type of subscription: beauty
Frequency: monthly
Product size: deluxe and full
Cost: $15/month

The Allure Beauty Box is a monthly subscription created by Allure magazine. This box is a lot of fun because they send a lot of really well known or high end brands

I pay for this subscription

My box came with a small booklet that details all of the products that I received and explains why they were chosen. This box was curated by NikkieTutorials, which is cool because she’s a very well known, popular makeup artist on YouTube. This booklet also contains promo codes for a lot of the products. So if you discover something that you really love you can buy it for less.

Ofra Cosmetics NIKKIETUTORIALS Everglow Highlighter (full size!) – retail $35 (use code Allure30 for 30% off of your order)

I’m honestly surprised that I haven’t been blinded by the beauty of this highlighter. It’s made up of three different shades: pearl, champagne, and bronze. The bronze may be too dark for me, but I love mixing the champagne and pearl shades together. This highlighter swatched like a dream. It was super creamy and easily buildable. When I saw this item in the spoilers for this month I just knew that I had to subscribe.

NYX Lip Lingerie in “Cabaret Show” (full size!) – retail $6.99

I love this dusty rose color. It’s totally up my ally. Even though this lipstick is a matte it applies very creamily. It can be a little sticky at first, but it dries down pretty fast. I found it to be long lasting and not terribly uncomfortable to wear, although after six hours I did start to notice it more.

Juvia’s Place Miniature “The Nubian” Eyeshadow Palette – full size retail $20 (use code ALLURE for 10% off of your order)

This miniature palette is the main reason that I subscribed to the December Allure Beauty Box. I LOVE Juvia’s Place shadows. They’re super creamy, pigmented, and blend like a dream. This palette features three matte and three shimmer shades from the full size “The Nubian” palette. All of these shades are super wearable and can be combined into many fabulous combinations that work for day and night wear. PLEASE, if you ever take any advice from me, TRY A JUVIA’S PLACE PALETTE.

Bliss Eye Got This Holographic Foil Eye Masks (full size!) – retail $4/2 pack (use code BLISS20 for 20% off of your order of $25 or more. You can also receive 4% cash back by using Ebates)

The only variation for this box was between a Bliss peel off mask and these Bliss eye masks. I’m really glad that I got the eye masks, because as we all know by now I’m not a huge fan of face masks. These little miracle workers are meant to reduce puffiness and dark circles. Something I’m generally in desperate need of. Just slap these babies on, wait 15 – 20 mins, remove and pat dry. Easy as 1, 2, 3! The star pattern on the actual patches is super adorable, and they left my undereyes feeling very soft.

LA Splash Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner (full size!) – retail $14 (use code NikkieSplash for 25% off of you order)

This eyeliner took me by surprise. The applicator is a brush tip, which I’m not familiar with. I didn’t think that I was going to be a fan of it, honestly, because it wasn’t as stiff as what I’m used to using. But it actually worked like a dream. I found that I had an easier time creating a tightline than I normally do. It wasn’t as pigmented as I’m used to, but going back over my line wasn’t such a big deal considering I had much better control with this product. It’s also waterproof, but comes off super easily with my evening makeup removing routine.

Neutragena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelette – $7.99/20 pack

While I love Neutragena, and this towelette worked like a dream, I can’t help but think that there is an awful lot of packaging wasted here. These tiny little pods contain a single cleansing wipe. Ideal for overnight trips and on the go. They’re kind of nice, because they aren’t in packaging that you open, close, and reopen all of the time. So you don’t have to worry about them drying out on accident.

The verdict:
I loved this box! My favorite products were definitely the eyeshadow palette and highlighter, but I’m also a huge fan of the eyeliner, lipstick and eye masks. There wasn’t a single bad item in the bunch! And almost all of them were full size! What did you think? What was your favorite?

Thanks for reading!
