How does Luxury Scent Box work?
Type of subscription: perfume
Frequency: monthly
Amount of product received: 9 mL (0.30 fl oz). Approximately a one month supply
Cost: $15/mo
Luxury Scent Box is a neat concept for a subscription box. For $15 a month they will send you a perfume that is tailored to you based on a fragrance survey that you take when you create an account. After completing this survey you will be given a whole host of recommendations of perfumes suited to your tastes. You’re given a fragrance calendar and allowed to schedule ahead of time which perfume you’d like to receive every month. A lot of the perfumes that you’re able to try sample are very high end. If you don’t schedule a perfume for a certain month then they will send you a perfume that they’ve chosen for you. An ideal option if you like to be surprised or are still broadening your horizons. All perfumes are sent in a travel sized atomizer inside of a beautiful metallic case. There are additions that you can add on to your subscription, but this blog will explore the basic package.

My box this month contained a card showing me how to access my perfume as well as a card with information on rating the product and finding the company on social media. Opening the product is pretty simple to figure out, even without a card explaining it. You merely have to twist the case and it will pop out at you. In the basic subscription you only receive one case. There are several different metallic colors, and I must have lucked out because I got a gorgeous pink one. Each box from now on will only contain the atomizer refills.

At first, I didn’t like this fragrance at all. It smelled super sweet, like candy. Like the body spray that we used to drench ourselves in when we were in middle school. Apart from making me nostalgic it didn’t really do anything for me. However, after less than a minute of sitting the super sweetness completely disappeared and left behind was a very mature floral scent. Much, much more my speed.
The verdict: for my first month, I thought this box was great. I got to try an otherwise very expensive perfume AND I liked it! I’ve already got my next fragrance lined up for February and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
